当您大着肚子跑到地球另一端，对当地法律、医疗费用还是生活环境都一无所知，把自己和孩子交给一群陌生人手里的时候，一定会有各种各样的担心。

可能有个月子中心正在跟您说：

尔湾的环境有多好，游泳池有多大，霍格医院有多棒，海景房游泳池和白人社区多先进……他们从业多少年，跟国内直连直营等等天花乱坠看似靠谱的宣传。

很不幸，您遇到了非法月子中心。

因为在它营销的词汇里，没有一条能证明它的合法性。

正规合法月子中心之所以难办，是因为美国人没有坐月子的概念，自然也并不知道这个行业的行业标准是什么，所以说服一个市政府，要一个这样的营业执照难如登天。

最终合法注册月子中心，要以“母婴产后康复中心”这个医疗二级机构的从业标准，加上最苛刻的保险和软硬件规范审查，才能成立。

这太难了，很多赚快钱的华人不愿意这么做。

所以全美的“正规”月子中心凤毛麟角

一只手基本数的出来……

When you travel to the other side of the world while pregnant, knowing nothing about local laws, medical costs, or living environment, and entrust yourself and your child to a group of strangers, you will inevitably have all sorts of worries.

Perhaps a maternity center is telling you:

How wonderful the environment in Irvine is, how big the swimming pool is, how great Hoag Hospital is, how advanced the ocean-view rooms, swimming pools, and white communities are... They boast about their years of experience, direct connections and operations with China, and other seemingly reliable but exaggerated claims.

Unfortunately, you've encountered an illegal maternity center.

Because none of the terms in their marketing materials prove its legality.

Legitimate maternity centers are difficult to establish because Americans don't have the concept of postpartum confinement, and naturally don't know what the industry standards are.  Therefore, convincing a city government to issue such a business license is incredibly difficult.

Ultimately, a legally registered maternity center must meet the standards of a "maternal and infant postpartum rehabilitation center," a second-tier medical institution, and pass the most stringent insurance and hardware/software regulations and reviews before it can be established.

This is too difficult, and many Chinese people looking to make quick money are unwilling to do it.

Therefore, there are very few "legitimate" maternity centers in the entire United States.

You can basically count them on one hand...

“我就是过去坐月子生孩子，条件好就可以，合不合法有没有注册有什么区别？真的重要吗？

区别非常大！直接关系到您和孩子的最直接的切身利益……只是，他们宣传时都会刻意回避。

首先教您 如何鉴别非法月子中心

可以说百分之99.9%的月子中心是非法运营（尤其是尔湾地区）

假设您正在广告、小红书和微博朋友圈介绍之间试图了解每个月子中心，每个月子中心都跟您说他们是如何“正规”。

那么很简单，请你让它出示它在美国（不是国内）“月子中心”的营业资质，说清楚它经营的是什么项目。

严格地来讲，在美国的法律里，并没有“月子中心”这种机构存在。所以很多非法月子中心的营业执照上写的是“旅行社”“旅馆”“饭店”，用这种擦边球的方式蒙混过关。

更最简单、粗暴的方法：

请他们提供美国当地月子中心名字和政府电话、邮箱，您说：我想直接给当地政府咨询下合法性，问问政府这里是不是可以居住很多孕妇和婴儿。看看政府是答复您 这样完全合法，还是感谢您举报为民除害。

（大概率，您咨询的月子中心什么都不会给您，或者说签约缴费后咱们再谈……）

非法运营的月子中心会给赴美生子的您带来几个巨大风险

（当然，他们一条都不会告诉您）

一、有份最重要应该保障您和孩子的保险它们没给买,您知道吗？

在异国他乡生了孩子以后，通常会由月子中心来照顾宝宝。除了必须具备专业的看护人员照顾宝宝，保持恒温的婴儿房以外，更重要的是一份对于“意外”的防护。

新生的婴儿比任何时候都要脆弱，即使悉心照料，但偶尔的失误（例如月嫂不小心磕碰到孩子）也可能会给孩子造成极大的伤害。

当然，美国的医院会在第一时间尽全力救助，但假如没有任何保险支持，随之而来的，是您可能要面对一张足以让普通月子中心倒闭的天价医疗费用单。

这些非法运营的月子中心当然不会为您支付足以让自己倒闭的医疗账单，那么谁来付呢？

当然是您！如果大概率您也支付不起，那么拖欠逃避美国医疗费用账单的结果就是上信用黑名单，很快被注销美国签证永远也不能入境了。

之前在尔湾地区就发生过24小时陪护月嫂抱着孩子睡着了，孩子头摔倒地上导致颅内出血，医院全力救治，但天价医疗单出来后，月嫂直接溜了，月子中心老板无法承担费用也跑路的案例。

您可能会说：去美国前，我购买了保险啊！

假如您已经买了旅行意外险，意外险可以保证您治好因为意外受伤的身体，但意外险并不包括您意外导致诸如早产的全部费用。

假如您买了备孕险（孕中险），只可以保证您正常生产过程中产生的花销，以及产妇婴儿在产后的各种问题。但意外摔跤（月嫂失手磕碰）导致的医疗费用，备孕险（孕中险）也不会不承担。

划重点：这部分“磕碰倒”系列的巨额医疗费用，本来需要月子中心来承担。

但假如月子中心资质不达标，保险公司不会给它上这份专业失误保险，因为理赔出险这种意外的概率太大，保险公司也不傻。

况且这份保险是保孕妇和婴儿这两类最脆弱最容易出大问题的人群，所以这真的是一份很~~~~~~~贵很贵的保险

（这也是我们的康复中心比私人别墅或DIY贵的原因）。

那些注册成“旅行社”“旅馆”“饭店”的月子中心虽然也会购买保险，但是保险公司保障的是旅馆、饭店经营范围内的责任，才不会覆盖孕妇和婴儿的相关责任，更何况出险理赔，保险公司会仔细调查核查出险细节，您觉得这些注册成“旅行社”“旅馆”“饭店”的月子中心能获赔吗？

保险公司根本不会出售这份保险给 非法的月子中心

即使是我们这样的合法“母婴产后康复中心”，也要申请很久，层层审核，才能具备这样一份保险。

非法月子中心的手续和软硬件不达标，加上出现这种意外的概率太大，保险公司不会给它们上这份保险。所以他们无论在宣传还是服务过程当中，都刻意隐瞒了这项应该属于您的重要权益。

谁都不想意外发生，但意外是不挑人的。

假如在月子中心范围内出现这种事情，或者是刚出生的宝宝有了什么意外情况，您是希望月子中心报销这可能上百万的费用，还是自己付呢？

Los Angeles is so big, with hundreds, even thousands, of postpartum care centers, but there's only one legitimate one in the entire Southern California region.

"I'm just going there to have my baby and recover after childbirth. As long as the conditions are good, what difference does it make whether it's legal or registered? Is it really important?"

The difference is huge! It directly affects your and your child's most direct and vital interests... but they deliberately avoid mentioning this in their advertising.

First, let me teach you how to identify illegal postpartum care centers.

It's safe to say that 99.9% of postpartum care centers are operating illegally (especially in the Irvine area).

Let's say you're trying to learn about each postpartum care center through advertisements, Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book), and WeChat Moments, and each center tells you how "legitimate" they are.

Then it's very simple: ask them to provide their business license for a "postpartum care center" in the United States (not in China), and clearly state what services they provide.

Strictly speaking, there is no such institution as a "postpartum care center" under US law.  Therefore, many illegal postpartum care centers have business licenses for "travel agencies," "hotels," or "restaurants," using these loopholes to get by.

The simplest and most direct method:

Ask them to provide the name of the postpartum care center and the local government's phone number and email address. Tell them: "I want to directly contact the local government to inquire about its legality and ask if it's permissible for many pregnant women and babies to reside there." See what the government tells you. This is completely legal, and thank you for reporting this to protect the public.

(Most likely, the maternity center you're inquiring about won't provide you with anything, or they'll say "let's talk after you sign the contract and pay...")

Illegally operating maternity centers pose several huge risks to you if you're giving birth in the US:

1. They haven't purchased the most important insurance that should protect you and your child, do you know that?

After giving birth in a foreign country, the maternity center usually takes care of the baby. Besides requiring professional caregivers and a temperature-controlled nursery, the most important thing is protection against "accidents."

Newborns are more vulnerable than ever, and even with careful care, occasional mistakes (such as a nanny accidentally bumping the child) can cause great harm.

Of course, American hospitals will do everything they can to help, but without insurance, you may face a sky-high medical bill that could bankrupt an ordinary maternity center.

These illegally operating maternity centers certainly won't pay a medical bill that could bankrupt them, so who will pay?

Of course, you will! If you likely can't afford it either, then the consequence of defaulting on American medical bills is being put on a credit blacklist, and your US visa will be revoked, preventing you from ever entering the country again.

Previously in the Irvine area, a 24-hour nanny fell asleep while holding a baby, causing the baby to fall and suffer a cranial hemorrhage. The hospital provided full treatment, but after the exorbitant medical bill came out, the nanny... There have been cases where postpartum care center owners have absconded after being unable to cover the costs.

You might say: I bought insurance before going to the US!

If you have purchased travel accident insurance, it can cover the costs of treating injuries sustained in an accident, but it does not cover all the costs of unexpected events such as premature birth.

If you have purchased pregnancy insurance, it only covers the expenses incurred during a normal delivery and various postpartum problems for the mother and baby. However, it will not cover medical expenses resulting from accidental falls (or accidents caused by the nanny).

Key point: These huge medical expenses from "falls and bumps" should be borne by the postpartum care center.

However, if the postpartum care center does not meet the required standards, the insurance company will not provide them with this professional liability insurance, because the probability of claims and accidents is too high, and insurance companies are not foolish.

Moreover, this insurance covers pregnant women and babies, the most vulnerable groups most prone to serious problems, so this is a very, very expensive insurance.

(This is also why our rehabilitation center is more expensive than private villas or DIY options).

Although postpartum care centers registered as "travel agencies," "hotels," or "restaurants" may also purchase insurance, the insurance company only covers liabilities within the scope of the hotel or restaurant business, and will not cover liabilities related to pregnant women and babies.  Furthermore, when a claim is filed, the insurance company will carefully investigate and verify the details of the incident. Do you think these postpartum care centers registered as "travel agencies," "hotels," or "restaurants" will receive compensation?

Insurance companies simply will not sell this insurance to illegal postpartum care centers.

Even for a legitimate "maternal and infant postpartum rehabilitation center" like ours, it takes a long time and multiple levels of review to obtain this type of insurance.

Illegal postpartum care centers lack the necessary procedures and facilities, and the probability of such accidents is too high, so insurance companies will not provide them with this insurance. Therefore, they deliberately conceal this important right that should belong to you, both in their advertising and service processes.

No one wants an accident to happen, but accidents don't discriminate.

If such an incident occurs within the postpartum care center, or if the newborn baby has any unexpected problems, would you rather the postpartum care center reimburse the potentially millions of dollars in expenses, or would you rather pay for it yourself?

二、缺乏专业的医护人员

非法运营的月子中心也分好坏。

好一点的会从国内雇佣一些月嫂，拿着旅游签证过来，干接近六个月就回国。差一点的就是夫妻店，老婆负责做饭和月嫂的工作，老公负责开车。

而合法的康复中心这类机构，必须雇佣专业的医护人员，来随时观测宝宝和孕妈的健康状况，以便可以随时就医，就医时可以最高效率地跟医院沟通。

我们的母婴康复中心每天都有专业护士像医院一样查房，随时关注母婴的健康情况，毕竟多达27种以上的孕中疾病和15种以上的产后并发症需要专业护士随时进行处置。

毕竟如果没有护士，不管什么小医疗状况都开车送去医院进行挂号治疗很不现实也不经济，更会耽误时间。

我们真的不太相信那些“旅馆”“餐厅”“旅行社”月子中心也有这样的人员配置。

我们也不太理解，除了偶尔的产检，平时24小时谁来监测孕妈和胎儿的健康？靠没有医疗资质临时请来的月嫂吗？

三、安全卫生和保护标准能一样吗？

住满游客的酒店，和一个住满孕妇、产妇和婴儿的地方，它们的消防标准，卫生标准，以及对产妇和婴儿的保护，能一样吗？

您大可以问问这些月子中心，当地政府知道这里住了很多孕妇么？知道这里有很多刚出生的婴儿么？知道你这里并没有专业的医护人员么？

美国对于不同经营项目的机构有不同的要求，对于一家普通旅馆和月子中心这样住满孕妇和婴儿的地方，当然要求上有天壤之别。

大部分非法月子中心是租用的民宿（民宅用于经营本身就是违法的），为了吸引客户，找一个环境较好人口不多的居民区（例如尔湾），租上几个带泳池看上去高大上的别墅，用长租模式换客户的短租。

无论是火警警报还是24小时监控系统，统统达不到康复中心标准。别说住满孕妇了，很多连旅馆的标准都达不到。

软硬件都不达标的情况下，海景和房子好看，真的是值得把自己交付给它们的优点么？

能被审批下来的合法的月子中心（母婴护理康复中心），首先各项硬件标准要求超高，孕妇不像常人跑那么快，刚出生的孩子也比任何时候都脆弱。

合法的月子中心，必须有24小时有护士执照的专业医护人员在岗，每天像医院一样查房。孕妇和婴儿不是普通酒店住客，没有这种人员配置，完全不可能拿到“康复中心”执照。

给大家举个例子：我们月子中心的游泳池掉了一块瓷砖，政府官方工作人员就要整改。必须整池水放干，瓷砖贴上，检查合格以后再放水。即使在我们的温泉游泳池里，还要配置高敏感火警探测器。

II. Lack of Professional Medical Staff

Illegally operated postpartum care centers also vary in quality.

The better ones hire nannies from China who come on tourist visas and work for nearly six months before returning home. The worse ones are family-run businesses, where the wife handles cooking and childcare, and the husband does the driving.

Legitimate rehabilitation centers, however, must employ professional medical staff to constantly monitor the health of both the baby and the mother, allowing for timely medical attention and efficient communication with hospitals.

Our maternal and infant rehabilitation center has professional nurses conducting daily rounds, just like in a hospital, constantly monitoring the health of mothers and babies.  After all, there are more than 27 types of pregnancy-related illnesses and more than 15 types of postpartum complications that require professional nurses to handle at any time.

Without nurses, it's impractical and uneconomical to drive to the hospital for every minor medical issue, and it would also waste valuable time.

We seriously doubt that those "hotel," "restaurant," or "travel agency" postpartum care centers have such staffing.

We also don't understand, besides occasional prenatal checkups, who monitors the health of the pregnant mother and fetus 24 hours a day? Is it relying on temporary nannies without medical qualifications?

III. Can Safety, Hygiene, and Protection Standards Be the Same?

Can the fire safety standards, hygiene standards, and protection measures for pregnant women and infants be the same in a hotel full of tourists and a place full of pregnant women, new mothers, and babies?

You can ask these postpartum care centers: Does the local government know that many pregnant women are staying here? Do they know that there are many newborn babies here? Do they know that you don't have professional medical staff?

The United States has different requirements for different types of businesses.  There are vast differences in requirements between a regular hotel and a postpartum care center that houses pregnant women and infants.

Most illegal postpartum care centers rent private residences (using residential properties for business is illegal). To attract customers, they find a nice residential area with a low population density (such as Irvine), rent several high-end villas with swimming pools, and use a long-term lease model to accommodate short-term stays for clients.

Neither the fire alarm system nor the 24-hour monitoring system meets the standards of a rehabilitation center. Many don't even meet hotel standards, let alone the standards required for a facility housing pregnant women and infants. When both the hardware and software standards are substandard, are the beautiful sea view and the attractive house truly worth entrusting yourself to their supposed advantages?

Legally approved postpartum care centers (maternity and infant care and rehabilitation centers) have extremely high hardware standards. Pregnant women don't move as quickly as ordinary people, and newborns are more vulnerable than at any other time.

A legal postpartum care center must have professional medical staff with nursing licenses on duty 24 hours a day, conducting daily rounds like a hospital. Pregnant women and infants are not ordinary hotel guests; without this staffing configuration, it's impossible to obtain a "rehabilitation center" license.

Let me give you an example: when a tile fell off in our postpartum care center's swimming pool, government officials required us to make corrections. The entire pool had to be drained, the tile replaced, and the pool inspected and approved before it could be refilled. Even in our hot spring swimming pool, we are required to have highly sensitive fire detectors.

四、我们的母婴康复中心为什么不在最火的尔湾地区？

因为最火的尔湾地区是美国居民区，美国人不坐月子啊，所以政府根本就不会审批主要针对中国人服务的月子中心。

这也是为什么我们的月子中心（母婴康复中心）最后建在了加州棕榈泉附近。

只有棕榈泉当地的政府允许我们开设这个康复中心，而且是自己购买商业地产不能租赁才行，这还是跟政府解释了好多天，才终于让他们明白了什么叫坐月子。

然后经过探讨，才在2015年为我们设立了一个行业标准，即完全按照医疗二级机构标准“母婴康复中心”建设。

逃税被查抄的风险

因为美国没有坐月子的项目，所以很多人拿了餐厅、旅游或者酒店的执照就敢做，问题是旅游和住宿的收入远远不如经营月子中心，报税报多了又不好解释多余的收入哪来的，所以美国逃税是重罪，这样非法运营的月子中心随时可能被责令停业，而孕妇则要挺着大肚子在陌生的国度里重新找地方住。

野草般遍地生长的非法月子中心敢号称“经营多年国内直营”，更体现了喜欢赚快钱、走捷径这点性格缺陷。

这也是能不抄近路，坚持拿到正规运营的营业执照的月子中心，在南加州就一家的原因。

五，潜在的其他风险

月子中心有不同的价格，三十万，二十万，甚至十万人民币的都有。

便宜的月子中心特别容易出现夫妻店。

他们或许会通过一些手段盗刷您的信用，更可能的是在你不知情的情况下，替你领取了生孩子的各种政府福利。您要知道，您并不是美国公民，也没有在美国工作纳税，这些福利都是纳税人的钱。一旦被用您的名义用了，您以后将面临永远无法踏入美国的情况。

这些夫妻黑店经常打一枪换个地方，租别墅只租一年，干完了你们这波就撤，换个地方继续租。

正规合法的月子中心，全美都没有几家。但巨大的市场需求让非法月子中心野草一般疯狂生长。

这不是买包，可以买A货。

这不是住酒店：海景，沙滩，大游泳池并不会为孕妇和婴儿提供更多的安全保障。

正规，安全，医疗辅助，保险覆盖。

这才是万里之外一段安全旅程的保障。

IV. Why isn't our Maternal and Infant Rehabilitation Center located in the popular Irvine area?

Because the popular Irvine area is a residential area for American citizens, and Americans don't practice postpartum confinement (sitting the month), so the government simply wouldn't approve a postpartum confinement center primarily serving Chinese people.

This is why our postpartum confinement center (maternal and infant rehabilitation center) was ultimately built near Palm Springs, California.

Only the local government in Palm Springs allowed us to open this rehabilitation center, and only if we purchased commercial real estate instead of leasing it.  Even then, it took many days of explaining to the government before they finally understood what postpartum confinement was.

After further discussion, a new industry standard was established for us in 2015, requiring the center to be built entirely according to the standards of a Level 2 medical institution.

Risk of Tax Evasion and Raids

Because there is no established postpartum confinement industry in the US, many people obtain licenses for restaurants, tourism, or hotels and then operate postpartum confinement centers. The problem is that the income from tourism and accommodation is far less than that of operating a postpartum confinement center.  Reporting higher income is difficult to explain, and tax evasion is a serious crime in the US.  Such illegally operated postpartum confinement centers can be ordered to close at any time, leaving pregnant women stranded in a foreign country.

The proliferation of illegal postpartum confinement centers, which dare to claim "many years of operation and direct management from China," further highlights this character flaw of seeking quick profits and taking shortcuts.

This is why there is only one postpartum confinement center in Southern California that avoids shortcuts and insists on obtaining a legitimate business license.

V. Other Potential Risks

Postpartum confinement centers have different prices, ranging from 300,000, 200,000, or even 100,000 RMB.

Cheaper postpartum confinement centers are particularly prone to being run by husband-and-wife teams.

They might use various methods to steal your credit information, and more likely, they might claim various government benefits for childbirth in your name without your knowledge. You should know that you are not a US citizen and do not work or pay taxes in the US; these benefits are funded by taxpayers. Once these benefits are claimed in your name, you may face the possibility of being permanently barred from entering the United States.

These illegal husband-and-wife operations often move from place to place, renting villas for only a year at a time, completing one group of clients and then moving on to another location.

There are very few legitimate and legal postpartum confinement centers in the entire United States. However, the enormous market demand has led to the rampant growth of illegal maternity centers, spreading like weeds.

This isn't like buying a handbag, where you can buy a counterfeit.

This isn't like staying in a hotel: ocean views, beaches, and large swimming pools don't provide any additional safety guarantees for pregnant women and babies.

Legitimate, safe, medically supported, and insurance-covered.

These are the true guarantees for a safe journey thousands of miles away.

The only legally registered maternal and infant postpartum medical rehabilitation center in Southern California.
